
The Government of Canada held a new Express Entry draw and invited 2,500 healthcare workers
On October 15, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the fifth occupation-specific Express Entry draw of the year for candidates working in healthcare and social services occupations. In round #373, IRCC issued 2,500 Invitations to Apply (ITA), and the cut-off score was 472 points (2 points more than the last draw). The tie-breaking rule for this round was May 12, 2025, at 23:17:30 UTC. This year, Canada issued 74,183 ITAs across 43 Express Entry draws, and 10,000 of them were for healthcare and social services professionals.
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program welcomes 328 healthcare professionals
On October 14, 2025, Manitoba’s Labour and Immigration Minister Malaya Marcelino and Health Minister Uzoma Asagwara announced that 328 healthcare professionals had been invited through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) to establish permanent careers in the province. The recent expression of interest draw included 187 healthcare aides, 21 physicians, 11 registered nurses, and additional support staff. This initiative is part of Manitoba’s comprehensive strategy to rebuild its healthcare system, having successfully added nearly 3,400 healthcare workers since October 2023.
2025 IEC season concludes with final application deadline set for October 20
The 2025 International Experience Canada (IEC) season is approaching its conclusion, with the final invitation round scheduled for the week of October 20, 2025. Prospective applicants must ensure their profiles are submitted before 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time on October 20, 2025, to be considered for this season’s remaining pools. Individuals who receive invitations before the season closes or have already started their work permit applications will be able to complete and submit them. This marks the last opportunity for applicants to participate in the 2025 IEC season across all remaining pools.
New Brunswick held new draws under the NBPNP
On October 15, 2025, New Brunswick published the results of its recent draws using an expression of interest system to streamline immigration applications for the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP). From October 6 to October 9, 2025, the province held two draws under the NB Express Entry – Employment in New Brunswick Stream (all sectors) and the NB Skilled Worker – NB Graduates Stream (health care, education and social & community services, construction trades), issuing a total of 431 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to qualified candidates. Additionally, the NBPNP invited 91 healthcare workers under the NB Skilled Worker – NB Experience Stream. In total, the province invited 3,589 candidates in 2025.
